by the way

Before I fill you in on my pleasant yet again not earth-shaking day yesterday, and my pleasant but not earth-shaking plans for today, here’s some catching up:

First, here are a few pictures of Vance and Wade destemming grapes last year. That machine magically shakes the grapes off of the stems, and throws the grapes in the tub and the stems on the ground.




2nd: Exciting news: this summer, we are getting a Trader Joe’s in Richmond. It’s going to be out near Short Pump.

3rd: Last summer these caterpillars kept eating my parsley to the ground. I left them alone because they looked like butterfly caterpillars. Just now I finally got around to googling “butterfly caterpillar parsley” and sure enough, they are the caterpillar form of the black swallowtail butterfly, which I find especially beautiful and we have tons of them, so I suppose I will never have parsley in the summer again.

those are some pretty sweet looking caterpillars! :) we used to always play with the little fuzzy ones that would crawl on your hand when i was a kid.
