And then the camera zapped the computer

and now the computer won't come back on.
Seriously, how weird is that? I plugged it in and turned it on like usual and everything froze. And then I got a message about a port ..what was the wording..surging, or something. and then it all locked up, and wouldn't even shut down with ctrl alt delete. So I turned it off, and now it won't boot back up.

Computers suck. It hasn't even been year since I had to wipe the whole thing to get rid of a virus. I hope all my important shit is backed up.

I hope you get it back up and running. An external hard drive to do automatic backups is a pretty good investment. After my last crash I picked one up.

From your description, sounds like you have a Windows operating system, maybe even the notorious Vista. Consider getting a MacIntosh. Virtually virus-free, very few problems, and the Mac OSX operating system is as user friendly as a warm puppy on your lap.

I've used both Windows and Mac and there is no comparison. In fact, I used to joke that Windows 2000 = Mac 1985. Windows is a Rube Goldberg patchwork system, and all the patches leave gaping holes for hacking and viruses. Mac's operating system is built from the ground up and is not susceptible to attack. To the best of my knowledge there have been no successful virus attacks on Mac.

Mac was responsible for developing the computer mouse with "point and click" that Microsoft finally copied, along with pull down windows and a host of other innovations we all see as standard now. All Microsoft has over Mac is a huge marketing system and a somewhat lower price. But you get what you pay for.
